Microcement in Kuwait: what do we check before starting?

Is microcement suitable for your space?

• Bathroom or kitchen: We review water exposure, corners, surface condition and the appropriate protective system.
• Floor or wall: We assess stability, cracks, joints and transitions before defining the application scope.
• Application over tiles: Tiles must be stable and the substrate suitable for the selected system. Loose tiles or damage need assessment before approving the finish.

A known leak requires its cause to be addressed separately before finishing. Microcement does not repair the source of a leak.

How does the project progress?

1. Photos and dimensions: Send the area and overview and close-up photos. Specify walls, floors or both.
2. Surface assessment: We review the details and decide whether a site visit or further information is needed.
3. Scope and sample approval: Agree on surfaces, preparation, materials, colour and details before starting.
4. Application and protection: Stages and waiting times follow the material system approved for the project.
5. Handover and use: We specify when use, water exposure and cleaning are allowed, together with care instructions.

What should your written quotation include?

Do not compare the price per square metre alone. Check included areas, surface preparation, materials and protection, edges, details, exclusions, timeline and agreed terms. Application completion may differ from the date the space can be used or exposed to water.

Questions before agreement

How much does microcement cost?
Cost depends on area, substrate condition, use, preparation and details. Design images help explain the request but are not enough for a final quotation.

Must existing tiles be removed?
Not in every case. The decision follows assessment of tile stability, substrate condition and system suitability.

When can I use the bathroom or wash the floor?
Timing depends on the materials, final coat and site conditions. Ask for written water-exposure and cleaning dates in the handover instructions.

What warranty applies?
Duration, coverage and exclusions are specified in the project quotation according to the agreed service and system. A finishing warranty does not cover plumbing or the source of a leak.
